SITE Residency | 2025/26

* indicates a required field.

Site Residency is a two-month creative residency at The J in Noosa – a residency designed to hold, expand, and challenge your artistic practice. A dedicated container for diving deep into self-directed creative process, where time and space are intentionally carved out to allow for experimentation, redirection, and renewal.

Open to individual artists and collaborative projects across all disciplines, Site Residency supports ambitious practices, process-led inquiry, and the unfolding of new and existing work in unexpected directions. Whether revisiting a dormant project, sharpening the contours of a current practice, or forging something entirely new, Site Residency is a catalyst for transformation.

Just as a site can be listened to, dug into, built upon, and returned to – this residency offers you the grounded support to excavate, refine, and navigate complex creative terrain. Here, the residency space becomes a studio, a laboratory, a vessel – responsive to your needs, and open to what emerges.

This is time to fully enter your practice. To get lost in it. To let it lead you somewhere unfamiliar.

Residency outcomes are open-ended and process-oriented. However, artists are invited to present a Residency Showing to share their evolving practice and/or projects with the public. Additionally, artists are invited to deliver a Public Program for artists focusing on exchange of practice between creatives — a workshop, reading group, co-creating space, artist talk, research walk, or other form responsive to their practice.

  • A Residency Showing – sharing what's emerged or evolved (Non-ticketed)
